Oro Nami, New Sushi Restaurant & Bar, Rumored to be Kosher, Opening in D.C.

Based on scant sources, we have reason to believe the new upscale sushi joint will indeed be kosher.

The new restaurant and bar, named Oro Nami, will open at 2512 Pennsylvania Ave NW (which previously housed The Setting Restaurant and Bar).

Young Jewish Professionals of D.C., the Chabad-backed organization serving young professionals in Washington, D.C. has announced an event on June 26, 2025, listed as the “Grand Opening” of Oro Nami, which would signal Orthodox kosher supervision.

For its part, Oro Nami’s website only lists a countdown clock which would indicate the restaurant’s opening on June 30, 2025.

Oro Nami’s Facebook page today posted “9 DAYS until DC’s hottest new kosher sushi lounge opens its doors!”

This is an exciting new development for the greatly-underserved downtown Washington, D.C. community. Stay tuned for more.
